Sea Level Rising Faster Than Expected – Scientists Warn

A panel of NASA scientists says global sea levels rose an average of three inches since 1992. NASA Satellites documented regional variations, with some areas rising as much as nine inches. The researchers say say three feet of sea level rise is essentially guaranteed, although they are uncertain about the time frame. Sea level rise is driven by the expansion of ocean water as it warms and melting glaciers and ice sheets, which are particularly unpredictable as global temperatures rise.
